How blockchain is used for supply chains
When companies introduce food products to consumers, they make certain claims about the products: that they are organic, non-GMO, sourced from a specific country, processed according to HACCP principles, etc.
For various reasons, consumer trust has waned in recent years. Therefore, companies are taking action to provide evidence that their claims about their products are true.
Traceability from farm to fork allows supply chain companies to send their event data to BlockchainFarm, register them on the blockchain, and connect IDs to maintain data integrity.
The blockchain ledger contains evidence of information entered by various participants in the supply chain. The transparent, immutable, and integrity-preserving approach of blockchain technology assures consumers that the data cannot be falsified by a food company.
To use Blockchain Farm's decentralized traceability ledger, companies in the supply chain (or deployment partners) must obtain the appropriate number of software licenses. TFD is an encrypted software license based on Ethereum's ERC20 standard.
The utility of the encrypted license is to qualify for certain transactions to be sent to Blockchain Farm. A trace transaction involves storing data in the blockchain, allowing for tracking or further processing. Through the transaction, data is retrieved or a trace transaction is executed, meaning a dataset is recorded in the blockchain (executing read or write access).
TFD license token FoodChain can only be used with a valid license held in the customer's ERC20-compatible wallet (or your deployment partner's wallet).
Transaction potential Each TFD allows the holder to activate a specific number of transactions in the area per day, known as transaction potential.
